Senior Product Developer

Working closely alongside the design and production teams, you will spearhead and facilitate the development of prototypes, from initial concepts to pre-production samples. Your responsibilities will include sourcing materials and trims that align with the required performance specifications, creating comprehensive Tech Packs and BOMs outlining design and technical requirements at each developmental stage, and meticulously analysing and assessing the design, construction, and fit of samples. Your ability to communicate feedback effectively with manufacturers through CAD drawings, annotated photos, and written comments will be paramount.
Maintaining exceptionally high standards for material quality and construction, you will ensure that all apparel produced meets the highest calibre and is impeccably suited for its intended purpose. Furthermore, you will diligently track and document all progress, maintaining an up-to-date work in progress (WIP) and material library.
About You
We seek a highly organized and dynamic Senior Product Developer capable of thriving in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment, with experience spanning luxury performance outerwear, knitwear, and accessories. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7-8 years of experience, preferably gained from working with luxury, outdoor, and/or sports brands. We value individuals who can confidently take ownership of the product development process, managing multiple products across various categories with finesse.
Your adeptness in creative problem-solving, coupled with a fervent passion for innovation, responsible sourcing, and environmentally sustainable design and production practices, will set you apart. Preferably, you should also possess a fervour for outdoor pursuits such as skiing, sailing, and ocean rowing, as a genuine enthusiasm for crafting “best in class” products is essential.
You’ll be knowledgeable in the following
- Performance fabric technology, including fabric composition, yarns, weights, denier, weave, waterproofing, breathability, air permeability, and wind-proofing. A solid understanding of the upcoming PFAS ban is desirable.
- Insulation methods, encompassing down, synthetic materials, scrim, baffle bags, and box wall baffle construction.
- Knit yarns, covering yarn performance, composition, gauge, and ends.
- Garment construction techniques to enhance performance across outerwear and knitwear.
- Proficiency in pattern amendment, fitting, grading, and building blocks.
- A keen awareness of the luxury performance sector and competitor brands.
- An avid interest in and knowledge of trends within the technical performance apparel market.
Preferred Qualifications
A degree-level qualification in fashion design, development, and/or business management is essential. Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets/Slides is required, with a willingness to adapt and learn new applications as needed. Experience with Clo3D would be advantageous.

- Experience in direct collaboration with factories, coupled with a thorough understanding of factory structures, operations, machinery, and equipment.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a high level of numeracy and analytical, detailed, and strategic approach to work.
- Negotiation prowess when dealing with suppliers on costs and timelines.
- Ability to understand and manage risks, proactively identifying and troubleshooting any issues that may impact product delivery.
- Proficiency in meeting tight deadlines under pressure, with a positive attitude and a sense of ownership over projects.
- Excellent time-management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in organizational techniques such as Critical Paths/Gantt charts and WIP management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside experience working with diverse cultures.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and overseas as required.
- Capacity to multitask and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, working both independently and as part of a team, while inspiring and motivating team members.
